Tajikistan - Kyrgyzstan - Xinjiang (W China) - Pakistan

Day 1: Arrival in Dushanbe. Modern and Tajik.


Day 2: Dushanbe - Kalaikhumb, breathtaking journey & a small town bordering the Pamirs.


Day 3: Kalaikhumb - Khorog, along the Panj River, more Pamirs and Soviet-Tajik vibes.


Day 4: Khorog - Ishkashim, right on the Afghan border, maybe a visa-free visit of Afghanistan. Also: hot springs, Wakhan River Valley, Khakha Fortress, Zoroastrian fortress, crystal clear waters of Bibi Fatima springs.


Day 5: Ishkashim - Langar, lonely highway and lonely mountains along the Wakhan Corridor. Buddhist sites, petroglyphs.


Day 6: Langar -  Alichur. Bulun Kul & Yashil Kul lakes, Khargush Pass, geysirs.


Day 7: Alichur - Jarty Gumbez hot spring, Akbalik lake.


Day 8: Jarty Gumbez - Murghab. Shakti paittings.


Day 9: Murghab - KaraKul - Erkeshtam Tajik-Kyrgyz border, Sary Tash. Karakul Lake, Alay Range, Kyzyl-Art Pass (4282m), stunning panoramas.


Day 10: SaryTash - Kyrgyz-China border and on to Kashgar.


Day 11: Kashgar and the People’s Republic. Mosques, forgotten streets, tombs.


Day 12: Kashgar, possibly the one and only Sunday bazaar. Great photo opportunities.


Day 13: Kashgar - KaraKul, more - this time - Chinese lakes. Short trekking.


Day 14: Karakul - Tashkurgan; back to spectacular mountains.


Day 15: Tashkurgan - Khunjerab - Sost. Welcome to Pakistan.


Day 16: Sost - Hunza. Pakistan you won’t forget.


Day 17: Hunza - Gupis. Crystal clear rivers, wonderfully nice people.


Day 18: Gupis - Mastuj. A few yaks perhaps and over the fine Shandur Pass to Mastuj. No polo in June :-(


Day 19: Mastuj - Chitral - Kalash Valley. Unique unislamic civilization in the Islamic Republic if you believe the various Alexander the Great conspiracy theories!


Day 20: Kalash Valleys. Right on the Afghan border.


Day 21: More Kalash.


Day 22: Chitral and flight to Islambad.


Day 23: flight “home”

Prices are based on 4 passengers per vehicle + guide/driver with booking made at least 6 months in advance. But we still need to hear from you to finalize all the technicalities and the price.
